With a J.D./LL.M. from Duke University School of Law and a B.A. in French and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I bring a strong academic foundation to my role as a college admissions coach. Over the past several years, I've served as Senior Admissions Counselor at AddedEducation, Strategy Consultant at Crimson Education, and Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions for the Chicago Booth Executive MBA program, roles in which I've successfully guided numerous students and professionals through the complexities of highly competitive application processes. My diverse experience also includes project management and business development, further strengthening my strategic planning, mentorship, and leadership skills. With over a decade of admissions experience, Skyler has read and rendered admissions decisions for some of the most competitive academic programs in the world. Skyler previously served as associate director of admissions at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and assistant director of undergraduate admissions at Northwestern University, where he also received a Master’s in Higher Education Administration and Policy with an emphasis on college admissions. Skyler has extensive experience in admissions consulting as well, taking a personal approach to advising and supporting students as they navigate the college admissions process. Skyler has successfully helped hundreds of students get admitted to schools such as Yale, MIT, Berkeley, USC, Northwestern University, and more! Skyler is also passionate about college access, and from Adams Admissions Consulting’s inception, supporting low-income, first-generation students has always been core to the company’s mission. Skyler serves as a board member for the college access nonprofit, Green Halo Scholars where he supports the organization's efforts in supporting first-generation college students.

With 4 years of experience in college counseling, I have helped over 100 students apply for college and find out what school tailors to their strengths. I provide a thorough assessment of each students' grade point average, standardized test scores, extra curricular activities, sports, jobs, internships, and more in order to help my students craft a compelling college application. With colleges getting more and more competitive each year, it is paramount to have personal statements, essays, and resumes that stand out to admissions committees. I thoroughly review my students' application essays for grammar, style, and content. I also provide feedback to help my students convey their unique stories and personalities effectively. Finally, I work to teach you the intricacies of financial aid, scholarships, and grants. I'll assist you in finding options to make higher education more affordable.

As a former Harvard Admissions Officer, Berkeley Application Reader, College Counselor (at a top 5 independent school in the US), and a Coca-Cola Scholar Application Reader, I have read 1000s of applications and helped 100s of students through the admissions process.

As a a BYU alum, a mom of four BYU students and an experienced editor with over 10 years of experience working on executive-level writing, I’ve developed a unique passion for helping students tell their stories well. Since 2017, I’ve coached dozens of applicants—many of them nervous, hopeful high school seniors—through the BYU admissions process, specializing in helping them craft essays that are thoughtful, genuine, and uniquely theirs.
