Welcome to my profile! I am a J.D. candidate at Columbia Law School, and real estate is one of my largest passions. I got my first real estate license when I was 19, and have since passed the real estate exam in multiple states. Through internship experience, I have been involved with many different parts of the real estate industry. As an aide to the Mayor of a sizable New England city, I became well versed the local regulatory frameworks regarding real estate development, and I also have some experience working with landlords to identify new potential properties or streamline their rental operations with technology. I am also very well versed on real estate economics and recent market news, and it's one of my favorite subjects to talk about. Though I have not been involved with real estate sales directly, I also have significant experience working with startups and developing sales and outreach strategies in that context. Patrick Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University, where he was selected for the Hirsh Fellows accelerated honors program. In 2023, he also participated in Harvard Business School’s highly competitive Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP). While at NYU, Patrick served as a research coordinator for Urban Lab, preparing case studies for the ULI Resilience Summit and the Mayors' Institute on City Design. Professionally, he has built experience across top firms including Newmark, AEW Capital Management, Lincoln Property Company, and Matthews Real Estate Investment Services.
