Description
This multi-week course is designed to help working professionals and university students prepare strategically for the GRE. The course provides a comprehensive overview of the exam’s structure, content, and scoring, while focusing on efficient approaches that fit into a busy schedule. Additionally, all resources will be covered by the instructor. Course Objectives Understand the format, timing, and scoring of the GRE. Review key skills tested across Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Learn practical strategies to improve accuracy, speed, and test-day confidence. Apply methods for managing time and stress during preparation and the exam. Gain experience with GRE-style practice problems and sample essay prompts. What We’ll Cover Verbal Reasoning: reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence, with emphasis on critical thinking over memorization. Quantitative Reasoning: review of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis, with a focus on problem-solving strategies and efficient calculation. Analytical Writing: clear essay structure, argument analysis, and persuasive writing techniques tailored to timed conditions. Test-Taking Strategies: pacing plans, educated guessing, and approaches for maximizing scores with limited study time.

Occasionally I will deliver mini-lectures, but overall I'm a truly hands-on instructor. I seek to understand how my students are operating within the test questions, and to help them perfect their form and their reasoning. Additionally, I like to speak about all the issues not related to the actual test material, namely test anxiety, study schedules and strategy hacks.

I've been coaching the GMAT for almost as long as distance learning has been around. However, my story really starts in 2006, the year I notched a nifty 770 on my GMAT and received a scholarship to the USC - Marshall School of Business. In the following years, I made the Graduate Dean's list in 3 semesters, and excelled at such courses as Microeconomics, Corporate Finance, and Statistics. My general academic interests fun rather parallel to the topics of the GMAT, and I sincerely feel that any incoming b-school student should have excellent capabilities in reading comprehension, argumentation, and college level quantitative skills. In the decade I've been coaching students in the GMAT, I've worked with nearly 250 people over a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, and thus have dozens of success stories from students who succeeded in increasing their scores by 100+ points! I have had a wide variety of students, but I would consider my niche to be veterans/active military, folks with learning disabilities, and those in search of a scholarship
